About Department
The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems was launched in the year 2020 with Under Graduate B.Tech - Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) Programme in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the academic year 2020-21.
The Department has dedicated and specialized faculty members in different areas of experienced faculty members who are specialists in the areas of Database, Data Mining, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Information Security and Programming Languages, Management with rich experience in academics, industry and research. The department has well equipped and spacious laboratories with modern computer equipments.

- To cultivate proficient professionals powered with industry induced education, research expertise, inventive and productive computer science cognition along with inculcation of executive skills, human and social values.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

- PEO1: To acquire technical knowledge and proficiency required for the employment and higher education in the contemporary areas of computer science or management studies.
- PEO2: To apply their competency in design and development of innovative solutions for real- world problems.
- PEO3: To demonstrate leadership qualities with high ethical standards and collaborated with other industries for the socio-economical growth of the country.
Program Outcomes (PO)

- PO1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- PO5 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- PO6 The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- PO7 Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
- PO8 Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
- PO9 Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
- PO10 Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
- PO11 Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
- PO12 Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
Program Specific Outcomes(PSO)

- PSO1: Ability to apply the analytical and business skills to provide sustainable solutions as an engineer/researcher for the real-time applications using Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Data analytics.
- PSO2: Ability to practice ethical and human values with soft-skills qualities in computer science and business disciplines to emerge as an entrepreneur for the growth and development of the society.

Students Achievements
- Thirumavalavan P, Mohan P, Siva M of III-year CSBS of KRCE won 1st prize in Technnical Quiz along with the cash prize of Rs.2000 at the National level Rathinam Grand Fest 2024 held on March 11th at Rathinam Group of Institutions, Coimbatore.
- Krishna K of II Year CSBS of KRCE won first prize in Blind coding, code relay, neural nectar and deserved Rs 2500 conducted at Sri Krishna College of Technology.
- K. Srivatshava of IV CSBS selected as best outgoing student for the academic year 2023-2024 at PEGA University winning a prize worth $250.
- Akshaya Devi R ,selected as best outgoing student for the year 2023-2024.
- S. Hariharasuthan of II CSBS secured the 1st runner-up position in the grand finale of the national level intelligent innovators Hackathon(I2H)2.0 held on September 8th and 9th 2023, Organized by Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Coimbatore.
- Krishna K from III CSBS for winning the 1st Prize in the Intra-College Coding Contest titled "Discovering the Master Minds of Code" held on 15th October 2024.
