Clubs
Shelley club is a literary club of the department of English initiated in the year 2009. Dr.S.Neelakandan, in-charge of this club, actively involves by conducting various literary activities and competitions to the students. In this competitive scenario, every engineering graduate confronts many hardships when they leave the campus. To overcome their fear and shyness, Shelley club provides a platform by conducting many competitions like elocution, essay writing, poetry recitation, extempore, and other various activities provide them an opportunity for self-expression.
Women Empowerment Cell in our college is well ordered by the department of English which is coordinated by Ms.K.Maithri, Assistant Professor, Department of English which provides many opportunities exclusively for girls. Dreams for a successful woman are being taught to girls by organizing many activities. It is always a pleasure to aware and vigil the girl students and to make their life treasure. Fine arts club of our college is actively regulated by the department of English to bring out the unique talents of the students and it is headed by Mr.M.Karunakaran, Head Department of English. The talents of our students are instigated and sharpen to excel in many extracurricular activities. The club conducts an inter school cultural event, Enthusia- a hunt for young springs for the school children and an intra-college cultural fest such as Talentia, Pongal Day Celebration, Matribasha Diwas, etc., to showcase their talents. Students’ talents on various disciplines are scrutinized by the committee and the best are taken to participate in various inter college competitions in around Tamilnadu.
English has been gaining greater importance for global communication. A fairly high degree of proficiency in English and good communication skill enhance students employability. So, we conduct BEC exam for our students. It is coordinated by Mr.M.Yogeshwaran and Dr.R.Ravindran, Assistant Professors, Department of English effectively.
BEC is a high-quality international English language exam which instills the young minds to sharpen their language study and work success. This exam is developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment – a department of the University of Cambridge, the world leader in language teaching.

Environmental Science Club of K.Ramakrishnan College of Engineering serves as ecofriendly and intellectual club since 2009. The main motto of establishing the environmental Science Club is to conserve the natural environment and to create a clean and green consciousness among students by conducting various innovative activities. Our club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation
The club organizes various competitions, webinars, food donation camps, awareness programs in every academic year and motivate students to express their creativity, innovation and ideas to create a better ecofriendly environment.

A Students’ Exnora was started in 2016. ExNora is an acronym which refers, Excellent which means perfection, Novel which means new, Radical which means reactive. This brings great reactive impacts over the surrounding. With the coordination of Mrs.M.Thamarai Selvi, Head, Department of Chemistry EXNORA, the club activities are provoking its members and students towards environmental activities, creating positive impacts towards nature.
We, members of EXNORA have conducted many activities, awareness programs and webinars in the recent years. In the upcoming years all these events will be done successfully with extra efforts. Vivekanandar Elakkiya Peravai activities focus on bringing out the literary skills of the students. Every year, various events are conducted for the students. The events include Essay Writing, Elocution, Drawing, Mime etc.,

NSS Club

A two-day free eye check-up camp for students and faculty are organized on 26/09/2024 & 27/09/2024 at 3rd floor conference hall, K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering, Samayapuram in association with MAXI VISION SPECIALITY EYE FOUNDATION HOSPITAL, Trichy. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. D. Srinivasan, Principal, KRCE, approximately 700 students of 1st year and staff members from all branches have tested their eyes and got benefited. Consultant from the hospital have given advice to the students and staffs for keeping the eyes healthier, students with severe problems were identified and advised to get further treatment at the hospital. Dr. S. Selvakumar NSS and N.R. Nagarajan Program officer and NSS volunteers have organized the program.

As for direction from MINISTRY of YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS and NSS Cell Anna University K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering’s, NSS unit arranged the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s programme on the occasion of Viksit Bharat Youn leaders dialogue/national Youth Festival -2025. For the live telecast broadcast, we were arranging a hall and projector to watch the live telecast.
The event commences with the inaugural session lead by Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of state for youth affairs and sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse along with the other dignitaries from the Ministry. The ‘Colors of Viksit Bharat’ cultural show, a vibrant celebration that beautifully showcases India’s rich cultural heritage. The event showcasing the diverse cultural diversity, unity and progress, offering a vivid glimpse into the vibrant traditions, art forms, and values that defines India’s identity. NSS program officers Dr. S. Selvakumar and N.R. Nagarajan have made all the arrangements.

As for the instructions of Election Commission of India and NSS Cell Anna University K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering’s, NSS unit arranged the celebration of 15th National Voters Day. In this program NSS program officer created the awareness about the importance of getting oneself enrolled as elector and thereby enhance the participation in our Democratic process to the students and the students were taken the National Voters’ Day pledge in both English and Tamil on 25/01/2025. NSS program officers Dr. S. Selvakumar and N.R. Nagarajan have made all the arrangements.

As for the instructions of secretary of India, Ministry of Home Affairs and NSS Cell Anna University K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering’s, NSS unit arranged the students and staffs to observe two minutes silence for struggle for India’s freedom from 11.00A.M to 11.02 A.M on 30/01/2025 (Thursday) at our college. Immediately after the observance of silence, the students and staff members were taken the pledge against Untouchability. NSS program officers Dr. S. Selvakumar and N.R. K. RAMAKRISHNAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, the National Service Scheme (NSS) units conducted a road safety awareness rally program on 04/08/2024 with Toll ways safety officers. The event was inaugurated by Dr. D. Srinivasan, Principal, KRCE. The NSS officers and road safety officer’s cerate and educate to the student community about critical road safety rules, responsible driving behaviour and pedestrian safety, thereby contributing to reducing road accidents in Toll Plaza samayapuram.
The NSS volunteer students conducted the road safety rally at Toll Plaza samayapuram and distributed the road safety awareness notices to the public and banners with key road safety messages. 50 NSS volunteers and 10 road safety officers were involved in this activity. The NSS road safety awareness program was successful in reaching a significant section of the community and promoting responsible road behaviour. NSS program officers Dr. S. Selvakumar and N.R. NSS Unit of KRCE observed National Science Day today (26.02.2025). In this regard we conducted various competition for the Engineering Students in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Trichy. 35 students participated in Essay Writing Competition. 23 students participated in painting competition and 20 Students participated in Rangoli competition. The winners were appreciated with shield and certificates. Dr. Keerthana Nehru Yuva Kendra was the Chief guest. Dr. Kamaraj, COE KRCE. Distributed Prize for the winners. Dr. S. SELVAKUMAR Unit 1 NSS Program officer made all the arrangements and welcomed the gatherings and Mr. N. R. Nagarajan Unit 2 NSS PO proposed the vote of thanks.

Ramakrishnan College of Engineering NSS cell has planted tree samplings inside the college premises in view of the International Day of Forests Day in the month of March to raise awareness of the importance of forests to the student’s community and their vital role for environmental sustainability. The program was organized by NSS program officers Dr. S. SELVAKUMAR & Mr. N. R. NAGARAJAN.

K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering NSS cell and Trichy Eye Foundation super speciality Hospital were jointly organized the NSS Human Rally and Awareness program for creating awareness to promote eye health and vision care among the community.
The rally started at 8.15 am in Eye foundation Hospital and concluded at the same place via Williams Road and central bus stand Trichy. The NSS Volunteers were carried by banners, posters and pamphlets with information on Glaucoma and Eye health. The Rally was started by the assistant Police Commissioner. Around 250 NSS volunteers, students, faculty members and community supporters were participated. NSS program officers Dr. S. Selvakumar and N.R. Nagarajan have made all the arrangements.

Department of Physical Education
Sports has become one of the most popular forms of human engagement, whether as professionals or amateurs, regularly or occasionally.
Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. sports commonly refer to activities where the sole physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determinant of the outcome [ winning or losing ] , but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports [ a common name for some card games with little to no element of chance ]and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors . sport is commonly defined as an organized, competitive and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play. Sports differing from games based on the fact that there are usually higher levels of organization and profit [ not always monetary ] involved in sports. Accurate records are kept and updated for most sports at the highest levels, while failures and accomplishments are widely announced in sports news.
Objectives of the Department
Our college management has set up the Department of Physical Education and has provided many facilities for students to take up physical education activities. The objectives of the Department are
- To create awareness and importance in students community regarding physical education and health and preventive methods, protect themselves in their future not getting attacked by bodily disorders like Diabetes, obesity etc, which leads to other diseases.
- To create awareness about sports activities and make students outstanding athletes by giving coaching in different sports disciplines
- To prepare students to participate in inter-university level
- To select fresh students (those who have not participated in any sports activity in their school studies) to motivate them and encourage them to take up any one of the game and provide coaching in that particular activity.
- The students are participating in various athletic events and games inside and outside the college and are bringing laurels to our college.
