Dr. K. Ramakrishnan – Chairman, a vibrant person filled with dynamism is a shining and definite role model for the budding engineers of this institution. A production Engineer with B.E degree from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, he was brought up with a vision to make this rural pocket as a hub of technocrats. His ardent faith in discipline and hard work has been getting him success one after the other in all his ventures. He has high aims and lofty ideals to secure a worthy place for this college amongst the renowned colleges in India and abroad.
Being an educationist and learned engineer, he founded an educational institution at Trichy for providing quality engineering education to the students hailing from varied socio – economic and cultural backgrounds. Having come from rural background, he educated the students from the darkness of ignorance to light more lights and to inspire more lives through his vision and perspective.
He had been a champion of TIES during his college days. Dr. K. Ramakrishnan is one of the three eminent personalities of the Anna University study team that visited the Canadian Universities in 2006. His matchless interest in imparting quality-engineering education elevated the college to a prominent position among the several engineering colleges in Tamilnadu. Being a sports person, he wanted to hone the interest of the students in sports by providing state of the art infrastructure facilities in the campus. Thus, he has become a role model not only to his administrative staff and teaching fraternity but also to his students.

About Executive Director
Dr.S.Kuppusamy
Executive Director
Dr.S.Kuppusamy took up his career in academics out of his passion for the profession and his commitment combined with a zeal for success elevated him to this position. He did his bachelor’s degree in Electronics at Erode Arts College, Erode and Master’s degree in Business Administration at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai and Ph.D. in Management at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
He has cleared NET and SLET and also he is a qualified auditor for ISO Certification. He had a long and successful stint at Kongu Arts and Science College, Erode in various capacities starting from Lecturer to Professor and Head, Department of Management Studies before joining M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering as director for MBA/MCA – Standalone Programs and later got elevated as Executive Director. He was a member of Board of Studies, Inspection Commission for grant of Affiliation and Senate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
In addition to his academic activities, he offered consultancy services for various organizations in ISO Certification process. His emotional stability coupled with decision making and leadership skills has paved the way for his success in academic administration.
About Principal
Dr. D. Srinivasan is a vibrant and dynamic leader known for his innovative administrative strategies and commitment to producing skilled engineers. He holds a Master’s and a Doctorate in Manufacturing Technology from NIT, Trichy (formerly REC). He has a distinguished stint as a Service Engineer at Cummins and as an Erection and Commissioning Engineer at Buckau-Wolf (I) Pvt. Ltd. He joined academia in 1992 as a professor at Shanmugha College of Engineering (now SASTRA University). His UG project earned a state award from the Directorate of Technical Education and, he also played a key role in creating curricula for Mechatronics and Logistics Management for college courses. He has established several laboratories by acquiring funds from central agencies and gained international exposure through a visit in 2004 to SWISS GERMAN UNIVERSITY (SGU), Indonesia to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
With over 40 published papers with an h-index of 10, 37 patents acquired at both national and international levels, 2 copyrights, and regular participation in conferences, workshops, and seminars, his perseverance shaped his captaincy steadily more. He is a Life member of professional bodies like IWS, IEEE, IEI, IIW, ISTE, the Society of Automotive Engineers (USA), and the Computer Society of India. He also serves as an assessor for the NAAC Peer Committee and presiding officer of GATE Examinations, journal reviewer for Springer, Research Supervisor and DC member at Anna University among other roles.

As a Principal, he has led the college to secure first rank in Anna University exams in 2013 and maintains top rankings till now. Under his effective administration, the college received NAAC “A” Grade, NIRF Innovation rank in band 101-150, QS I-GAUGE E-LEAD Certification in 2021, and NBA Accreditation for all eligible departments. The college was also awarded the National Employability Award for being one among the Top 10% of colleges in Tamilnadu in the AMCAT Assessment, 3rd rank in the category of Outstanding Excellence, 5th rank at state level, and 12th rank in the overall Southern Region by the GHRDC Times Annual Survey Report in 2024. With his guidance, the institution secured 31st position in ‘Top T-schools based on Employability Index’ and 26th position in ‘Top private T-schools’ in a survey conducted by DATAQUEST magazine. His expertise in teaching and administration has been vital in helping the college achieve excellence in technical education.
Principal Message
K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli has gradually become an academically distinguished place for technical education. The growth of the institution entirely lies in the performance of the students. I believe institutions should hone the calibre of the students by elevating their skills and making them grow competency in their respective fields so that they can fit better in the globalized market. The prime motto of KRCE, "Empower through Education" is achieved by providing an inimitable pedagogical approach by the committed faculty members and the students by sharing the responsibility of teaching and learning respectively. The college has successfully been holding the beacon of learning high in the scholastic empyrean, and it has been on an assertive journey to strengthen the young minds to innovate them with resolute tutelage.
Education means more than a tool to secure a job; it is a never-ending process that inculcates moral and ethical values which transforms a person's life. Apart from the excellent academic front, KRCE fosters students' holistic development by conducting activities and programmes. I highly encourage students’ involvement in sports and cultural events. Our students have bagged overall championship at the National Cultural Meet and received several runner-up prizes at State level cultural meets and sports events.
These accolades not only highlight their talents but also play a pivotal role in their personal development, strengthening their abilities in teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership qualities. Everything that makes a good institution – well-equipped R&D cells, lab facilities for all the departments, Wi-Fi enabled campus, a well-stacked library with digital facilities, career guidance, multi-dimensional teaching methods, training for competitive examinations, and liberty to think and express oneself – all are available to sculpt the students into skillful academicians who then would face the competitive world confidently.
