About Department
Learning Physics helps us to understand how the world around us works. The knowledge of Physics is the very basis for most modern technology and studying Physics strengthens quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills that are valuable in areas beyond Physics. Majoring in Physics provides the graduate student the excellent career platform to train the mind in all branches of engineering and information/computer science disciplines.
The department has well-qualified and dedicated faculty members. The department has grown together in strength, imparting quality education in basic sciences to the needy and weaker sections of the society. The department is proud to boast of a fully-fledged Physics Laboratories. Notable among the equipments are Photocurrent Apparatus, Hall-Effect Apparatus, Lee’s disc Apparatus, Fiber optics, Laser Apparatus etc.,
Currently the department has started the Research and Development (R&D) laboratory with Spin Coating Unit, Magnetic stirrer, Hot-air Oven and sonicator. The department takes initiatives to conduct FDP, workshops, seminars, international level conferences regularly to motivate the students to update themselves with the knowledge in new fields and areas towards industrial applications.
